Legal
Privacy Policy
How this website handles information about the people who use it.
Draft — not yet in force
This page is a working outline, not Beacon Point's privacy policy. The final wording has to be reviewed by Beacon Point Insurance Group's legal counsel or errors-and-omissions carrier before launch, because a privacy policy is a commitment the agency is held to. Nothing below should be read as that commitment yet. The effective date will be set when the approved language replaces this outline.
What we collect
This section will describe three separate kinds of information.
Information you give us
What you type into the insurance review request — your name, how you would like to be contacted, the kind of insurance you are asking about, your situation, and anything you choose to add in your own words. You give this to us on purpose and you can leave any optional part of it blank.
Marketing attribution data
This site records how you found it, and the final policy needs to say so plainly rather than bury it. When you arrive, the site stores in your browser:
- The first touch — the source that brought you here the very first time. It is written once and never overwritten, so a search or an ad from months ago is not lost when you come back directly later.
- The latest touch — the source that brought you back on your most recent visit.
-
For each of those: the source and medium (for example a search engine, a
social network, an AI assistant, a referring website, or a paid click), any
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign,utm_contentandutm_termvalues in the link you followed, the page you landed on, the referring web address your browser reported, and the time you arrived. - A coarse device class — mobile, tablet or desktop, worked out from your window width. No device fingerprint is built.
If you submit a review request, these values are sent along with it so the agency can tell which marketing actually reaches people. If you never submit anything, they stay in your browser and are not sent anywhere by this site.
Technical information
This section will cover what any web host and analytics tag records as a side effect of serving a page — approximate location from network address, browser and operating system, pages viewed, and time on page.
How we use it
This section will say, in plain terms, that information is used to respond to the request you made, to service your policies if you become a client, to understand which pages and which marketing are useful, and to meet the record-keeping obligations that apply to a licensed insurance agency. It will also state what the agency does not do — the sale of personal information to unrelated third parties is the point to address directly.
Analytics and Google Tag Manager
This section will disclose that the site loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics, and that button and link clicks are recorded as events with the page they happened on. It will link to Google's own privacy terms and explain that Google processes this data as a separate company under its own policies, not under this one.
Cookies and local storage
This section will list what is stored on your device and why. The site's own storage is limited to the two attribution records described above, kept in browser local storage rather than in cookies. Analytics cookies are set by Google, not by Beacon Point. The section will explain that clearing your browser data removes all of it, and that the site still works if you do.
Who it is shared with
This section will name the categories rather than leave them vague: the insurance companies the agency is appointed with, when you ask for options or coverage from them; the agency management and client portal systems used to service policies; analytics and marketing providers; and anyone the agency is legally required to disclose to. It will state that each of these has its own obligations for the information it receives.
How long it is kept
This section will give retention periods. Insurance records carry statutory and carrier-driven retention requirements, so counsel will need to set these against Missouri law and the agency's errors-and-omissions obligations rather than pick a round number.
Your choices
This section will explain how to ask what the agency holds about you, how to correct it, how to ask for it to be deleted where that is permitted, how to stop marketing contact while continuing to receive policy servicing, and how browser controls and Do Not Track signals are treated.
